Chapter One: World/Authority creation
This is the first draft of the first chapter/article* for Misspent Youth. Have at it! Enjoy! Commentary is welcome but realize this went from my fingertips to the site without even a single review.
* The layout in the book is going to be like a punk zine.

Rob, I think it’s great you’ve got this done, and I’m gonna try and read and comment before the end of the weekend. What kind of feedback are you looking for on this?
Also, based on the other “deadline” conversations swirling around, maybe you could post your outline and a schedule for getting the first draft done, chapter by chapter?

Given that I haven’t even read the text once after it left my fingertips, I’m extremely leery of asking anyone to comment. I mostly put these up as part of the whole “design in public” idea, and as spurs to myself. To some extent it’s also there to show people where I’m going.
If you (plural) would like to comment that would be welcome, but I would strongly urge you not to put too much effort into it at this stage. There’s a point later on where I will think the text is better that I’ll really want your help and I don’t want to expend the good-will and effort of others on something which is likely to be extremely different and doesn’t show my best efforts.
In terms of a schedule, yeah, I probably should do another goals post. Let me ponder.
Rob, this chapter is very interesting. I got a better feel for your game from these five pages than anything before it. I also dig the sidebar. With this plus the punk zine imagery you posted previously, I am starting to vibe on this.
On the first page you mention Need as part of Authority gen. Where is it? What is it?
Not sure I dig the word Motif for world generation, but I like that it is right there after Authority (and not before).

I added the following element to the Authority creation file, which I’m about to re-upload, just after the Victim section:
Need
This is a sentence or two telling what The Authority wants, and what will happen if it gets its way. What would happen if the YOs didn’t exist?
I don’t see Need in the document yet, did you re-upload?
Also, I really dig the V alliterations. That makes the creation system easier to remember.
