Know Thyself card mockup

I’m around 2000 words in the next draft. I’ve also been tinkering around with designing the cards. Here’s what I’m currently tinkering with: (cut because it’s a graphic)

Know Thyself card sample

One of my errands for this week is to go to Kinko’s and ask around about producing these cards. The color is important in the design. The originals are currently at 3.5″ by 2.5″ (standard poker size). Yes, the suit/rank is different on each side, but that’s to show what it looks like with different ranks.

Red: the Location name
Green: the Adjective
Blue: the Noun

You draw three cards, and in order use them to determine the scene, as [LOCATION OF FIRST CARD] of [ADJECTIVE OF SECOND CARD] [NOUN OF THIRD CARD]. Example: Cemetary of Shaken Desire. I decided to use the order of Red, Green & Blue because of my web design background.

The other color, Brown: The Memory color.

Also, each card will have a different picture of a potential Attachment item, partly for art, partly for inspiration & partly to randomly generate Attachment items if you want a game to start quickly. This will be a bit of a difficult stretch, but it would be really, really killer to include this with the ashcan.

  2. Agree. It will be a bit more difficult to produce, yeah, but you have something very unique going on here, Ryan.

  3. Thanks, guys. This is exactly what I’m hoping to get out of people who check out the game.

I talk a bit about my Kinko’s information trip on my journal: http://macklinr.livejournal.com/542969.html
