KoN: Dreamation 2008 edition

The illustration needs a bit more work, but here’s a mock up of the cover for the Dreamation Ashcan. I’m not selling it, but this may or may not end up going to color for the final cover…I haven’t decided yet.

EDIT: WordPress wasn’t cooperating with me, but I fixed it:

  1. Hey Jeff,

It doesn’t display. The error message says the jpg file contains an error.

  2. I really dig the protagonist, he looks like a good cross between homeless and homeric.

The balance of the “evil forces” and the hero is solid, I like the feeling of movement and the excitement of the oncoming clash.

I think the title should pop more, could you take out some of the black within the letter outline?

    This is a great cover.

  3. Dude. You so make me jealous with your great art, and not having to contract with anyone to get it.

I agree with Chris that the letters need a bit of help. A white outline might work? I think the people after the protagonist are great, the dog is great, and the protagonist is pretty good, but the trash can lid looks out of place facing away, is a bit smaller than my mind says trash can lids should be, and is too far up the arm. That’s criticism, I don’t think it’s something that needs to be fixed. It’s likely due to fighting with trash can lids and sticks when I was a kid. They probably sit larger in my mind…. I also really like that the woman looks more sad and plainative than the Zombious Spectres and Shadow Rats.

  4. It’s so not fair. Jeff gets to do both design AND art, and they both are friggin awesome. So unfair…
