[Misspent Youth] Chapter 2, Character Creation

Chapter/article 2 of Misspent Youth written, Lil’ Bastards and Riot Grrrls.  Again this is very rough; I haven’t even proof-read it once. Read and enjoy if you wish. At some point I’ll be doing more cromulent versions of these chapters.

  1. Dang, you write quick. More good stuff. I like the continued alliteration, a good memory technique.

I feel this nowness in the vernacular. I thought this was a futuristic game. Have you considered creating a whole new jargon for the game based on punk slang?

  2. Thanks for the encouragement, Rich.

On the alliteration thing, I actually was thinking of changing it to Means, Motive, and Opportunity, the three elements used to determine suspects for a crime. I think it would be a lot of fun if I could make it work and Opportunity is certainly a useful stat. I’m extremely hesitant to fuck with something I know works so well.

As for the future jargon thing–yipes! I mean, I think it’s a neat idea, but I fear I’d feel like a total douchebag. Also the game is no longer being written as though it were an artifact of the future in terms of the text. The layout might hint at that by sci-fi-ing up the standard punk zine feel.
